How to Cleanse the Whole Body With Algae

If you find yourself feeling sluggish, want to shed a few pounds, and restore shine to your hair and a healthy glow to your skin, you may decide to do a cleanse. Algae is an excellent addition to a full body cleanse because it is rich in chlorophyll, a substance that can help to remove toxins from your body. While you may decide to fast, it's not necessary to do so. By simply eliminating toxins from your body, staying hydrated and supplementing with one or more forms of algae, you can achieve noticeable results.

    Check with your doctor or naturopath before beginning your cleanse. Proceed with the cleanse, with your doctor's approval. Determine how long you want to cleanse; although many people recommend 5 to 7 days, even a weekend cleanse can be effective. Choose what's realistic for you. Eliminate all fats, additives, alcohol, sugar, and caffeine from your diet for the duration of your cleanse.

    Juice half a lemon and add it to a cup of water, this will help your body start flushing toxins right away. Drink a couple of glasses of pure water: Staying hydrated is a key part of your cleanse. Take the recommended dose of algae capsules with your water, following the manufacturer's instructions closely. Blend algae powder into a smoothie to make it more palatable, if you're using powder rather than capsules. Make sure you include algae in your breakfast.

    Eat a salad of mixed raw vegetables for lunch. Include mung beans to enhance the cleansing process. Consider adding Nori, Kombu, or Hijiki to your salad too. Consuming these seaweeds builds on the cleansing power of the algae. Make sure to take another two glasses of pure water at midday. Make yourself some green tea and have a piece of fruit, if you get hungry later in the day.

    Consume your final dose of algae at dinner. Stir it into a soup which you make with your fresh vegetables, or mix it with the lemon juice you'll use to dress your salad. Add some brown rice, Quinoa, or another whole grain to your dinner. Add a lean protein like tofu, if you like. Make sure to drink another couple of glasses of water; Your urine should be clear, if you're hydrating properly.

    Try dry brushing your entire body to remove excess skin cells and rev up your circulation. Take a soothing bath and, if you have them, wash your skin and hair with algae-based products. Prepare for a restful night, so you can awake refreshed and ready for the next day of your cleanse.
